Keynote by CEO Antonio Neri: Intelligence has no limits
Big moments, big venues, and the biggest names in technology. The big news at Discover was centered around the launch of NVIDIA AI Computing by HPE, a portfolio of co-developed AI solutions including a first-of-its-kind turnkey, private-cloud AI solution. HPE President and CEO, Antonio Neri, took the stage for the first-ever keynote to be delivered at the Sphere. With breath-taking visuals, customer stories, bold announcements, and special guest speaker, NVIDIA founder and CEO, Jensen Huang, Neri did a superb job articulating that there’s nothing that can’t be done together – hitting it home on his keynote tagline – intelligence has no limits.
Throughout the keynote, Neri capitalized on the immersive Sphere audio and video experience. He featured several customer stories that showcased our collective HPE philosophy: HPE’s technology is not just a tool, but is a force that unlocks human ambition, and catapults ideas into innovations and lifts enterprises to new heights.
Neri welcomed NVIDIA Founder and CEO Jensen Huang to the Sphere stage to announce NVIDIA AI Computing by HPE, a portfolio of co-developed AI solutions we developed together to accelerate adoption of Generative AI. As part of the partnership, the two visionaries introduced:
- HPE Private Cloud AI. A turn-key solution that provides the deepest integration to date, leveraging of NVIDIA AI computing, networking, and software with HPE’s AI storage, compute, and the HPE GreenLake cloud.
- HPE ProLiant DL384 Gen12 server with NVIDIA GH200 NVL2 is ideal for large language model (LLM) consumers using bigger models or retrieval augmented generation (RAG).
- HPE ProLiant DL380a Gen12 server support for up to eight NVIDIA H200 NVL Tensor Core GPUs. This is ideal for LLM users looking for flexibility to scale their GenAI workloads.
- HPE will be first in time-to-market support for the NVIDIA GB200 NVL72 / NVL2, as well as the new NVIDIA Blackwell, NVIDIA Rubin, and NVIDIA Vera architectures.
These bold announcements bring enterprises closer to the potential and promise of AI. In short, to experience – or even re-experience – the iconic keynote and gain a better understanding of the insights and news, watch the replay on the HPE Discover More Network.
It was truly an incredible keynote. One that I, and many other attendees, will remember for a lifetime.
Compute Spotlight: Accelerate your AI journey
In another memorable session, Krista Satterthwaite, SVP & General Manager of HPE Compute, reflected on her own experiences and learnings from customer conversations, and encouraged enterprises to take advantage of the beginner’s window with Generative AI.
The first half of this spotlight session focused on helping businesses figure out where to start on their AI journey, and quickly realize value from generative AI initiatives. Frances Guida, Director of Solutions and AI for HPE Compute, was joined by Mike Mangiafico, Director of Product Management of OEM Enterprise Platforms at NVIDIA, to dive deeper into how the NVIDIA AI Computing by HPE will assist businesses in streamlining the development and deployment of AI applications, from pilot to production.
Guida and Mangiafico also gave the audience an up-close, first-look at the newly announced HPE ProLiant DL384 Gen12 and HPE ProLiant DL380a Gen12 servers.
- The HPE ProLiant DL384 Gen12 server offers next-level performance for memory-intensive AI, based on the innovative NVIDIA Grace Hopper architecture, and supports up to two NVIDIA GH200NVL2s.
- The HPE ProLiant DL380a Gen12 server delivers ultra-scalable GPU acceleration for enterprise AI and supports up to eight NVIDIA H200 NVL GPUs.
Both servers will be generally available this fall.
Next up on stage, John Carter, VP of Product Management for HPE Compute, shared insights to help organizations create capacity by re-purposing or disposing of existing, underperforming IT assets. This action frees up the capital and time tied up in tools that no longer deliver the value they once did.
Carter provided enterprises with four excellent reasons to modernize their compute:
- Security is paramount
- Team-time is most useful for strategic initiatives and innovation
- Older deployments are complex and costly
- Workloads and use cases continue to evolve
Carter also announced HPE GreenLake for Compute Ops Management secure gateway, and two HPE ProLiant Compute Gen12 servers for Service Providers. The two new servers were designed to give service providers greater architecture flexibility by right-sizing infrastructure with seamless deployment for a long-term investment. Service providers’ customers can learn more about the two new platforms by contacting their HPE representatives.

Demos included Intel and AMD based Gen11 platforms, the newly announced Gen12 servers, VDI and AI solutions, Compute software and management as well as server security and more. Antonio Neri and Jensen Huang even stopped by to see the HPE ProLiant DL384 Gen12 – and they left their mark. Literally – you can see them signing the server in photo, above!
In addition to a variety of demos on the showcase show floor, HPE Compute also hosted a variety of sessions – several of which were standing room only.
- IT trends shaping server design, performance, and efficiency
- Hidden costs of deferring server modernization
- Best practices for delivering productive, secure VDI
- End-to-end security best practices for compute environments
