NSDEE 13.0 is generally available for L-series HPE NonStop systems
HPE NonStop Enterprise Division (NED) is pleased to announce the General Availability of HPE NonStop Development Environment for Eclipse 13.0 for x86 based HPE NonStop systems, HPE Virtualized NonStop, and HPE Virtualized Converged NonStop.
The NSDEE is a PC-based integrated development environment (IDE) for NonStop developers. It is a plug-in for Eclipse, a widely popular open-source IDE, developed by the Eclipse foundation (eclipse.org). NSDEE provides NonStop platform-specific enhancements to Eclipse while preserving the usability and extensibility of the Eclipse IDE. It enables developers to create, edit, build, and debug NonStop software using Microsoft® Windows® PCs running Windows 11 or Windows 10 operating system on an x86_64-bit processor. NSDEE can also be deployed on Red Hat Linux version 9.2 or higher. Note that only remote development on NonStop is supported by NSDEE on Linux.
NSDEE 13.0 is a plug-in to Eclipse 2024-06 (4.32) and is shipped with C/C++ Development Tooling 11.6 (CDT 11.6) and Xtext 2.35.0.
NSDEE 13.0 includes OpenJDK 21.0.3 runtime environment
-
- Similar to NSDEE 12.0 which included OpenJDK 17.0.3 runtime environment.
- Up to NSDEE 11.0, users had to pre-install Java before installing Eclipse and the NSDEE plug-in.
NSDEE 13.0 also brings a couple of functional and security fixes. Refer to the Softdocs of T0850V13 and T0880V13 for the details.
A significant difference between NSDEE 13.0, NSDEE 12.0 and the earlier versions is that the branding has been changed from “HP” to “HPE” from NSDEE 12.0. Users while migrating “workspaces” from earlier versions to NSDEE 13.0 (or) NSDEE 12.0 must follow certain steps while doing the migration. These steps are described in detail in the NonStop Development Environment for Eclipse 13.0 User Guide and the NonStop Development Environment for Eclipse 12.0 User Guide.
However, all “TNSX (L-series software) projects” from the earlier versions of NSDEE can be seamlessly imported into a workspace of NSDEE 13.0. Note that NSDEE 13.0 can be used only for TNSX (L-series software) projects.
