Today’s advanced technologies, such as cloud computing, mobility, and Big Data analytics, are key enablers to improving your productivity. While they provide distinct advantages to your business, if not supported by the right infrastructure, they can expose your business to security risks.
Small and midsize businesses are in a challenging position. Technology can bring ideas to market quickly, but SMBs don’t have a lot of time or resources to devote to it. Hewlett Packard Enterprises’s vision and breadth of products and solutions help businesses take advantage of the opportunities afforded through technology today.
Data storage speed and efficiency is key to assisting small and midsize businesses with growth opportunities. Users and business applications require real-time access to data today; milliseconds of storage latency is all that’s required to affect workload performance.
Productivity for small and midsize businesses doesn’t happen by chance. It happens by design. Follow these three steps to higher productivity.
It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No…it’s a server that’s a hero in the data closet—and in the data center. The HPE ProLiant ML350 Gen9 performance tower server has a secret identity as a rack server—along with multiple expansion options—so it can grow along with your business.
Paying OLTP fees to third-party providers is not a sweet deal for a small or midsize business. Treat yourself to an in-house solution that’s lightning fast, and easy to own and operate, with HPE Flex Solutions for OLTP with Microsoft SQL Server.
There continues to be exciting announcements in the hyperconverged space, with Nutanix IPO and Azure Stack announcements at Microsoft Ignite earlier in September. It is clear the IT is very interested in finding tools that simplify their activities in the datacenter and remote offices. I think it’s interesting that what happen in simplifying the desktop and the notebook environment many years ago is not affecting the datacenter. IT continues to be challenged on delivering services, for them to do this they need simple platforms to run applications and have the ability to deliver those services across traditional IT, Private and Public cloud. We call this Hybrid IT, which gives IT the agility and flexibility they need to provide the right services, at the right time in the most cost effective way. This makes it very exciting times for the datacenter.
There are going to many topics like this being highlighted at HPE Discover London during the last week of November (9/29 – 12/1). Mark your calendars, I will be there, I hope you can make it as well.

Timothy Chou has been lucky enough to have a career spanning academia, successful (and not so successful) startups and large corporations. He was one of only a few people to hold the President title at Oracle. As President of Oracle On Demand he grew the cloud business from it’s very beginning. Today that business is over $2B. He wrote about the move of applications to the cloud in 2004 in his first book, “The End of Software”. His most recent book, published earlier this year is, “Precision: Principles, Practices and Solutions for the Internet of Things”.
After earning his PhD in EE at the University of Illinois he went to work for Tandem Computers, one of the original Silicon Valley startups. Had he understood stock options he would have joined earlier. He’s invested in and been a contributor to a number of other startups, some you’ve heard of like Webex, and others you’ve never heard of but were sold to companies like Cisco and Oracle. Today he serves on the board of Blackbaud, a nearly $700M vertical application cloud service company and he is focused on several new ventures in cloud computing, machine learning and the Internet of Things.
